OLA 2018 LogoRegistration is now open for OLA 2018, the 111th Annual Conference of the Oklahoma Library Association. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Tulsa on April 23 - 25, 2018. Register online for the full conference (including pre-conferences, and the Opening Author Banquet), or just register for the pre-conferences only or Banquet only. DEADLINE TO PRE-REGISTER IS FRIDAY, APRIL 13. After this date registration must be onsite. Onsite registration may not be available for all events.  For more information, check out the Conference Website.

The Supervisors, Managers and Administrators Roundtable's spring workshop, "How to Survive and Thrive: Tips and Tricks for New Managers", will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Moore Public Library. You'll want to register today if you are a new manager, an existing manager or someone who is interested in moving to a leadership position. At this workshop you will learn about leadership principles, emotional intelligence characteristics and how to understand different personality styles, dealing with difficult employees and patrons, and how to give and receive feedback. FOLIO Scholarships

The Lillian Born Norberg and Mary Lou Atkinson Staff Support Scholarships are offered to full or part-time employees of a public, academic, or special library in Oklahoma in the process of furthering their education. Scholarship awards will be presented at the annual FOLIO member’s luncheon, held during the Oklahoma Library Association Annual Conference in the spring. FOLIO has awarded these scholarships since 2006. For more information, and to apply for the scholarship, download the application form (pdf). Oklahoma City Dodgers LogoOn May 19, 2018 OLA will be taking over the Devon Deck at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark for food, fun, networking and to cheer the Oklahoma City Dodgers to victory over the Nashville Sounds! Tickets cost $40 each and include an all-you-can-eat buffet and beverages, including a keg of beer for the group to share. You’ll also get a cool Dodgers hat and see OLA's name in lights on the big screen! This event is open to family and friends, so grab tickets for them, too! Sequoyah Award Reservations

The Oklahoma Library Association's Sequoyah Book Award Author Celebration will be held during the Annual Conference on April 23, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Tulsa Hotel in Tulsa. For the first time all three winning authors will be present: Lois Ruby (The Doll Graveyard), Kwame Alexander (The Crossover) and Ryan Graudin (Wolf by Wolf).
